Create the best materials for pencil drawings

I often receive emails, the question "What kind of pencils you use." Many young artists have enormous talent. You know the time and energy that goes into a detailed drawing and want to use the best materials possible.

My answer to this question surprised some. For the most part, I use normal pencils, purchased from an office supply store.I like the mechanical pencils as the leads are pretty thin, thus giving me a sharp point without wasting hours sharpen (and corresponding making a mess!)Mechanical pencils are also available in various.

Most mechanical pencils come with HB führt.Ich do 90% of my drawing with this softness of graphite. Then I artists use pencils in B 6B-Bereich "the darkest areas of my drawing punch".

One of the trademarks is my pencil drawings the wide range of shades of gray tones, including very dark (almost black) shadow. Believe it or not, the pencil used these to achieve rich dark areas, so much to do with the paper, how to use the softness lead.

Tonal depth in a pencil drawing depends with the highest quality paper available. It is always better, an acid or archival purposes turn paper otherwise, to use, which start drawing yellow and may in the course of time faded look.My personal preference is Strathmore 500 drawing paper.

The Strathmore 500 paper comes in two different models: a very smooth top surface and a vellum finish has a slight textur.Ich like plate finish for technical drawings and those images, the more technical precision erfordern.Das vellum finish works very verbessert.Probieren good for landscapes and animal portraits, like the texture of the paper fur and other natural textures it out - create drawing a small ripping on a piece of ordinary paper, and then create a similar drawing on a high-quality, acid free Blatt.Sie will notice how much easier it is to a variety of tones and textures with higher quality paper.

Top quality paper tends too expensive, but it's a small price to pay if, given the time and inspiration that goes into a pencil drawing!
